Congratulations to Ms Eileen Walsh representing Louisburgh Medical Practice who was shortlisted for GP Practice Administrator of the Year 2019.

The annual GP Buddy Awards recently took place in the Shelbourne Hotel. The awards recognise the tireless efforts of those working on the ground to improve the lives of patients all over the country. Nominees are recognised at these Awards for their dedication, commitment and innovative contributions to community-based healthcare in Ireland.

On Friday 21st of September the GP Buddy National GP Awards took place in the Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin. The Awards recognise the tireless efforts of those working on the ground to improve the lives of patients all over the country. General Practitioners and healthcare professionals from the recently qualified to the long-established are recognised for their dedication, commitment and innovative contributions to community-based healthcare in Ireland.

This year Dr. Patricia Henaghan and Dr. Eileen O’ Connor along with their team at Louisburgh Medical Practice were shortlisted for Rural Practice of the Year. Dr. Eileen O’ Connor received the Patients' Choice Award. This is awarded to a GP who is recognised by their patients as having a noteworthy positive impact on the patient’s experience. In 2017 Nurse Colette Gibbons received Practice Nurse of the Year, while Dr. O’ Connor was shortlisted for GP of the Year. These accolades are a credit to the rural based practice.

Patients from the EU

Visitors from EU countries are entitled to emergency care without charge provided they have a European Health Insurance card (EHIC) from their own country, valid at the time of their visit.  Please present your European Health Card at the practice reception before each consultation. In the absence of a valid EHIC card, a consultation fee will apply. 

 

Patients from the UK

Visitors from the UK are entitled to emergency care without charge provided they have proof of NHS eligibility.  Your personal UK national insurance number is considered proof of NHS eligibility. A valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is also accepted. In the absence of a NHS number/valid EHIC card, a consultation feE will apply. 

 

Patients from the rest of the world

In many situations your health insurance may reimburse some of the costs involved in your visit to Louisburgh Medical Practice. A receipt will be provided by our staff at the time of payment, which can then be presented to your insurance company.
